"Wyatt Earp" is a western television series that premiered in 1955 and was loosely based on the life of famous lawman Wyatt Earp. The show ran for six seasons with a total of 226 episodes.
The show starred Hugh O'Brian as Wyatt Earp, and other notable cast members included Morgan Woodward as Shotgun Gibbs, Denver Pyle as Frank McLowery, and Dabbs Greer as Mayor Jim Kelley.
Each episode followed Earp and his deputies as they worked to maintain law and order in the rough and tumble town of Tombstone, Arizona. The show also depicted major events in Earp's life, such as the shootout at the O.K. Corral.
The show was praised for its attention to historical accuracy and quality of writing. It was also one of the first westerns to be shot in black and white and feature adult themes and violence.
After the show ended, O'Brian continued to play the role of Wyatt Earp in various reboots and films throughout his career.
